According to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Big Island firefighters doing a search aboard the Hawaii County Fire Department helicopter spotted Ryan Ritzel's body floating on the surface of the Wailuku River at 9:30am (Hawaii time), about 100 yards from where he was last seen swimming. Ritzel, 24, the son of multi award-winning entertainer Ricky Ritzel, disappeared on Tuesday afternoon, while swimming in the river at Boiling Pots in Hilo with five coworkers.
Our hearts go out to Ricky and his family. He has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support and wants to thank everyone for their prayers, which are of great comfort to his family during this trying time.
Sincerely,
Scott Barbarino
